Kris: Hello and welcome back! I’m Kris Keeler from 89.1 The Canyon, and I’m here with Sid,
Razor, Mick, and Wendigo of Ghøst Tøwne! I heard your interview with Jay Cruzvenski and your
interview with Sarah Gacey. I’m sorry to hear the one with Sarah didn’t go as well as the one
with Jay.
Sid: Eh, it’s whatever. We deal with people like her all the time.
Mick: Yeah, you kinda get used to it over time.
Wendy: Honestly she was pretty tame compared to other people.
Razor: Yeah, we’re pretty used to that shit by now so it doesn’t matter.
Mick: Razor, language.
Razor: Oh crap, forgot I was on live radio.
Kris: You’re fine, it’ll be censored. Just try to keep it to a minimum.
Kris: So, you guys just recently released your newest album ‘Deathly Hallows’ and so far it
seems like it’s a smash hit. How long were you working on it for?
Sid: We intended for ‘Deathly Hollows’ to be released before ‘Welcome To The Upside Down’,
but there were some complications with it, so we ended up taking a break from working on it
and ended up starting and finishing a whole other album that we released in it’s place.
Kris: And what album was that?
Wendy: Oh, that was the ‘Blood & Gutz’ album we worked on with our good friends of British
Zombie Pigeons. It was a really fun project to work on. We competed against British Zombie
Pigeons in the Battle of the Bands competition that Sleepy Cat Records held, and the whole
thing kinda brought us a whole lot closer together. We’d already been working on ‘Deathly
Hollows’ before we entered the competition, but after we kinda wanted to take a break, and our
friends of British Zombie Pigeons offered to collaborate with us on an experimental album, and
that album ended up being ‘Blood & Gutz’. We actually hadn’t intended on releasing it at all, but
they encouraged us to release it, so we did.
Mick: And it was an absolute smash hit too! One of our best selling albums to date, actually.
Kris: Wow! I had no idea there was a whole backstory behind it! That’s amazing!
Sid: Most of our albums have backstories. I’d go over ‘em all, but we’d be here for hours.
Kris: *laughs* Okay, so this next question is for the whole band. What is the status of the whole
drama surrounding you and the metal band Cupcake Crush?
Mick: Eh, the wound’s still fresh. I dunno if—
Sid: Oh, I’ve got something to say about the girls of Cupcake Crush.
Wendy: Keep it PG, Sid. We don’t need Kris here getting into trouble with the FCC for us using
swears on live radio.
Sid: Don’t worry, I’ll keep it PG. Y’see, Kris. This whole thing started because of something one
of those girls said.
Kris: Oh? What did they say?
Sid: Cupcake Crush, somebody in Cupcake Crush, had the gall to say to one of our good
friends that Ghøst Tøwne fans are nothin’ but a bunch of fat, ugly kids.
Kris: Seriously?!
Sid: Yeah!
Sid: And, first off, I’m a fat, ugly kid.
Wendy: *whispering* No you’re not, Sid.
Sid: And secondly, Ghøst Tøwne fans, for the most part, like to listen to all kinds of music, like
Cupcake Crush. Maybe.
Sid: So what you’re tryin’ t’say is Cupcake Crush fans are nothin’ but a bunch of fat, ugly kids
too. Is that what you’re trying t’say, Jimin? ‘Cause if it is, we will come after you and we will
destroy you!
Wendy: Okay! Okay, I think that’s enough! *whispers to Kris* Next question, please. Quickly.
Kris: Aha, ehm, right. Uh, let’s see here…Ah, this one’s for you, Razor.
Razor: Hit me.
Kris: So, most of the fanbase has taken a real liking to you.
Razor: Yep. The fans love me.
Kris: Some would say a little…too much. Have you seen what fans in online spaces have been
doing?
Razor: If you’re referring to the fan art and all the fanfiction people write and draw of me, yes
I’ve seen it. Mick actually goes out of his way to look at it all. A lot of the fanfiction he’s read has
actually contributed to some of the things we try in the bedroom.
Mick: Lets just say…I’ve picked up a few new kinks.
Kris: So fans making this kind of content doesn’t weird you out?
Mick: Nope!
Razor: Quite the opposite. We love when fans make any kind of content for the band.
Sid: Yeah, sometimes the fanfiction and fanart can be strange, but it’s all in good fun.
Wendy: As long as they’re not going out and committing crimes and hurting others on behalf of
us, we don’t care what our fans do.
Kris: That brings me to my next question. There was recently a bunch of serial murders and the
perpetrator claimed to be affiliated with Ghøst Tøwne. Do you have any comments on that?
Sid: Like Wendy said, we don’t tolerate our fans committing acts of violence of any kind. That
being said, if this person really thinks they’re affiliated with us, they’re either completely insane,
or they’re trying to pull us and, by extension, the whole metal scene into controversy…again.
Wendy: Well said, Sid.
Razor: Agreed.
Mick: Couldn’t have said it better myself.
Kris: Circling back to the music stuff, along with the ‘Deathly Hollows’ album, you also released
a single titled ‘Voodoo Doll’.
Wendy: Did we?
Razor: I don’t remember that one.
Mick: Neither do I.
Sid: That’s because I worked on that one solo.
Wendy, Razor, & Mick: Oh.
Kris: Well, Sid. ‘Voodoo Doll’ has some pretty dark lyrics. Care to weigh in?
Sid: I wrote ‘Voodoo Doll’ when my sister was fighting her addiction to heroin. My sister and I
were pretty close, much to our father’s disapproval. We were practically joined at the hip
throughout our childhood. When she first picked up heroin, I almost jumped down the rabbit hole
with her, but the deterioration scared me off. I wrote ‘Voodoo Doll’ as a sort of letter to her. I tried
to get into her mind frame, tried to think of something that would’ve helped her overcome her
addiction.
Kris: Heavy stuff there, Sid.
