1. Introduction
On 13th March 2026 (Friday), I got the chance to visit the manufacturing unit
of Smith Structures (India) Pvt. Ltd. (SSIPL), which is situated in Kheda,
Gujarat. The main aim of this visit was to gain experience about the Pre-
Engineered Building (PEB) manufacturing process, learn about the production
of steel structural components, and learn about the quality control and safety
measures taken at the manufacturing unit.
Smith Structures (India) Pvt. Ltd. is one of the rising companies in India that
deals with pre-engineered steel buildings and structural manufacturing. The
company was founded in 2012 and has accomplished over 750 building
projects. The company has achieved tremendous success in the steel
construction industry.
The visit gave me the chance to learn about the design, manufacturing, and
preparation of steel buildings for construction sites. During the visit, we not
only saw the manufacturing process but also learned about PEB design, Tekla
modelling software, and the safety procedures followed in industrial units.
