Special Chapter
"Are you sure you don't want to meet in the restaurant downstairs, Ryla?" I asked again.
She gave me a knowing look and then wrapped me in an embrace. I gritted my teeth.
"Roscoe, napag-usapan na natin 'to..." aniya.
I encouraged her to go back to school since I knew she wanted to graduate. She didn't
have the urge anymore to go back after giving birth. She said raising our son was her top priority
now.
Even though I
was so happy that we were a small family now, there was a part of me that felt responsible for
halting her dreams.
I even had to make sure I didn't get her pregnant right away.
Not that it's hard to push contraceptives, but the idea of her getting pregnant with my
baby felt a little too addictive to me.
namin.
It took her a while to go back. It was when our baby boy didn't need her as much because
his day was filled with too much playing.
Ngayon, unti-unti na siyang bumalik sa pag-aaral. She took subjects, though not full load
yet because she wanted a balance between being present for our son and school.
I assured her that she could take the full load, and I would take care of our son when she
was busy. But it was really her choice to take only three subjects.
Kapag akong asawa mo
magbabayad ng tuition mo, ayaw mo?" I snarled angrily at her.
I had to look
away so she would stop touching me. She'd always win arguments this way. Kapag hinahawakan
"That's the point! I'm your husband, Ryla! Hindi ako ibang tao!" I snapped again, finally
having that courage to see through this argument.
You thought I'd fold just because you caressed me, huh?
I got that she's used to being independent. I already knew that she could be independent. I
had proven that and maybe it hurt my ego every time I thought about it. That she could live
without me, while I was a wreck without her.
"We're partners! I know you want to pay for the things you want in life. I get that. Our
company pays for scholars, Ryla. Tapos ako? Mismong asawa ko, bawal bayaran ang tuition?
That doesn't make sense to me!"
Kinagat niya ang labi niya.
"I pay for your tuition because I'm your husband and I think you deserve it because you
have good grades!" The fuck I cared about the latter, but I included it so it would make her feel
better.
She chuckled as if she knew what I was doing.
"If there is anyone who would deserve to pay for your wants and needs, it's me. Okay?"
akin!" It's just a bargain. Of course, I'll provide her everything
"Fine, Roscoe..." aniya at hinatak na ako para yakapin.
I was still in the middle of my heated anger, but the way she folded and touched me only
gave me relief.
My mother always said that I was lucky to have her because she was a kind woman. I
agreed with that, but she always made it sound like I would not be getting headaches.
